Burns began her television career in 1995 when she joined the cast of the Spanish-American teenager sitcom Out Of the Blue (1995-1996). Later, she starred in Baywatch: Hawaii, the sequel to the Baywatch action series. Burns left Baywatch due to the first pregnancy she had. Brooke Elizabeth Burns, an American model and actress who also is a TV persona, is most well-known as Jessie Owens from the drama Baywatch. Her role in Shallow Hal, a commercially successful 2001 film, is the reason she became popular.
